Will Ndigbo ever unite?

The incident in Concorde Hotel, Owerri, Imo State on Monday 27 September 2010, the headlines in all national newspapers been happening, in fact, was a show of shame. Then I saw that orchestrates the dance of shame by Ndigbo, Majek Fashek's "African Unity" came to my head. In this song, Majek asked very important questions about African unity. In this minute, I started the same questions to ask Igbo unity.

On that fateful day, key Igbo leaders, including the highly revered Second Republic Vice President of Nigeria, Dr. Alex Ekwueme, former Governor of Imo State, Chief Achike Udenwa, former governor of Anambra and Ebonyi, Dr. Chris dependent and Dr. Sam Egwu, immediate past Governor of the Central Bank, Prof. Charles Soludo, former Minister for Education, Mrs Chinwe Obaji, had, among other things at Concorde Hotel, Owerri, venue of the proposed Igbo summit convened been gathered Chief SN Okeke. The convener previously had to be booked a room at the hotel. None of the invitees could be any premonition of what had finally happened. act out of nowhere, security officials, "Command from above ", denied the above and other Igbo leaders Ndigbo, for the venue, gained access to the facility. They had to settle for the small lawn in front of the Hotels. Right there in the heat of the burning sun, the Igbo leaders to present their views on the reason for the meeting bare.

But who says security workers not to allow use Ndigbo to a facility in the Igbo heartland? Concorde Hotel of all places, by Dr. Sam Mbakwe, a pan-Igbo and democrat par excellence built? These people, locking others out how many such facilities, they have built? But that is beside the point.

Until now, no one Holding on. The Imo State government has denied giving the order and the federal government has also said she knew nothing about it. Who then gave the order? The Holy Spirit maybe. But no matter deny how many times they know Ndigbo that historically "lock out" has to do with the years 2011 and Goodluck Jonathan to do ambition. Dr. Chris REGARDLESS, speaking at the summit, you like a text message came to his phone on his way to the venue, it accused of participating in an anti-Jonathan Assembly. In other words, was the impression Jonathan have supporters that those who attended the summit were Igbo ambition against Jonathan in 2011.

I am neither pro-nor Jonathan Pro-IBB. This must be kept clear be. But let me ask: Ndigbo are not free to try to protect their interests if the ruling political equation in Nigeria they do not benefit? As many people have reigns Igbo in Nigeria since 1960? If IBB took power in 2011 Igbo presidency guarantees in 2015, Ndigbo are not free, go for it? Why should an individual or group interests prevail over the interests of the entire Igbo nation?

But during the summit was going on in the sun, created another group, with Jonathan's posters and chanting slogans Pro-Jonathan. It was very clear that their entire effort was designed to break the Igbo Summit which they thought was pro-IBB. But it did not end there. Yet another group came in support of the Aliyu Gusau, creating a scenario of complete confusion. And to think that none of the contenders for the division itself is Ndigbo Igbo in the first place.

I looked at the scenario, and I said, "What a shame? When Ndigbo is to always speak in unison? When will the Igbo man to stand up and say no when other tribes that he wants to use against his people? When will Ndigbo to place collective interest above personal interests?

Ndigbo seem to be a confused bunch. This was like 2003, when Ohanaeze Ndigbo decided that no person would be a running mate any Igbo presidential candidate, was the late Chuba Okadigbo and in the queue behind Buhari. When confronted, he replied, that play better, a second fiddle, as it does not play all the violin. So it is that Ndigbo, who was once an important leg of the tripod, on which was Nigeria, have completely irrelevant in the political agreement and now have to fight and to antagonize Ndigbo over who between a minority and Southern Northerner, this Country held hostage for eight years and stepped aside to do in 1993, only to again assist in step 2011.

So, I ask again: where is the Igbo man in all this nonsense zoning? Ndigbo are doomed to destroy itself? Will Ndigbo ever speak with one voice? These are important questions for every man, to answer the Igbo.
